10 Years of Public Access – Help Us Shine for Another Two Centuries
For over 230 years, Bakers Island Light Station has guided vessels safely through Salem Sound. Today it is more than a historic lighthouse–it’s a living landmark where visitors of all ages can learn, explore, and experience the beauty of our coast.
Thanks to your past support, we’ve already made significant progress in preserving this maritime treasure. In 2023, we restored the Assistant Keeper’s House as part of HGTV’s Farmhouse Fixer. In 2024, we successfully completed the restoration of the lantern room, addressing critical rust issues and preventing further water infiltration. In 2025, we completed a major masonry project on the interior of the light tower and repointed the two chimneys of the keeper’s houses.
