Essex Heritage is the non-profit organization that operates and maintains the 10-acre light station at Bakers Island with the mission of public access and preservation.
While public access and preservation are our main priorities for Bakers Island Light, for the health and safety of our guests, staff, volunteers, private island residents, and the entire community, Essex Heritage has made the difficult decision to cancel day trips for the 2021 season. However, there are opportunities to visit the island during the season, including:

However, there are opportunities to visit the island during the season, including:
- Private Charters on Naumkeag - options to book our 32' landing craft are available this season for up to 16 people. Trips to Bakers Island Light or 90-minute harbor cruises are available.
- Stay Overnight at the Light - limited availability to stay overnight at Bakers Island Light. Visit the overnights at the light page for more information.
- Camping at Bakers Island Light - camping options are available on a limited basis this summer. Visit the camping at the light page for more information.
- Volunteer at Bakers Island Light - small groups of volunteers will be needed this season to help with maintenance and preservation efforts at the light station. Visit the volunteer page for more information.
